About DIFCON 2024

Welcome to the Digital Futures International Congress 2024 (DIFCON 2024), the 4th edition of Multimedia University's annual academic congress. DIFCON 2024 is a premier event featuring six co-located conferences, 5th Multimedia University Engineering Conference 2024 (MECON2024) 4th International Conference on Computing, Information Technology and Intelligent Computing 2024 (CITIC2024) 4th International Conference of Creative Multimedia 2024 (ICCM2024) 4th International Conference on Communication, Language, Education and Social Sciences 2024 (CLESS2024) 4th International Conference on Law and Digitalisation 2024 (ICLD2024) 4th International Conference on Technology and Innovation Management 2024 (ICTIM2024) Scheduled on July 23-25, 2024, the congress explores the theme "Intelligence for Sustainable Futures: A Journey Towards Society 5.0," aligning with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Via virtual/online presentations we eliminate geographical barriers, allowing participants from around the world to attend without the need for travel.

Dr. YoungJoo Ko

President of Asian Society for Innovation & Policy

Dr YoungJoo Ko have been serving as a president of Asian Society for Innovation and Policy. He is also a principle researcher in Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology and a member of Presidential Council of National IP. While keeping those positions, Dr YoungJoo Ko had worked for regional innovation for the last three years as the first president of Daejeon Institute of S&T for Enterprise and People in Korea.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Khairul bin Ahmad

Director of Institute of Integrated Engineering (IIE), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia

Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Khairul bin Ahmad is a Professor in Department of Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He is also Director of Institute of Integrated Engineering (IIE) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. Prof. Ts. Dr Mohd Khairul’s research focuses on nanostructures oxide materials such TiO2 and ZnO. He is also interested in oxide material based thermoelectric, Dye-sensitized solar cell, wastewater treatment and mechanoluminescene materials. Prof. Ts. Dr Mohd Khairul received his first degree from Gunma University in 2003, where he studied Electronics Engineering. In 2009, he continued his Master degree at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam in Electrical Engineering. Then, he received his Doctor of Engineering from Shizuoka University, Japan in 2012. Prof Dr. Mohd Khairul has published 161 papers in WOS indexed journal with 1492 of citations.

Prof. Dr Sakiru Adebola Solarin

Faculty of Business, Multimedia University

Prof. Dr. Sakiru Adebola Solarin read for his Ph.D. in Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is currently affiliated with Multimedia University Malaysia. Prior to joining the Multimedia University, he was an Associate Professor and Exam Officer at the School of Economics, University of Nottingham, Malaysia. He was the Chairperson of Centre for Globalisation and Sustainability Research (GCSR) for several years. He has written several journal papers on numerous areas of Economics including environmental economics and has participated in many national and international conferences.

An award-winning creative artist specializing in crafting experiences where interaction and narrative are closely intertwined. This approach has fostered numerous successful and enduring relationships with brands and collaborators worldwide, including Google, Apple, Airbnb, Nike, Adidas, Netflix, Intel, and IBM. He operates across various media, including interactive, film, experiential, virtual, and augmented reality. His work has been widely published and recognized with prestigious industry awards such as The Emmys, Grand Prix at Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, Clio Awards, One Show, Webby Awards, and London International Awards.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuwairie Ibrahim

Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang

Associate Professor Dr Zuwairie Ibrahim graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia with B.Eng in Electrical Engineering in 2000 and MSc by research in Image Processing in 2002. He received his PhD in DNA Computing from Meiji University, Japan, in 2006. He is currently with the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang. He is one of the innovators who developed new estimation-based optimisation algorithms namely Simulated Kalman Filter Algorithm and Finite Impulse Response Optimiser. To date he has published over 130 conference papers and over 100 journal papers.

Mr. Massimo Imparato

Dean, School of Architecture and Interior Design, Canadian University Dubai

An educator, curator, and sustainability expert, Massimo was trained in architecture with Giancarlo De Carlo, with whom he collaborated at the International Laboratory of Architecture and Urban Design ILA&UD. He was the founder of award-winning design firm StudioBau, and the art director of several furniture companies in Italy. He taught at universities in Europe, the Middle East and China, where he was appointed founding Head of the Industrial Design Department of Xi'an Jaotong – Liverpool University in Suzhou, before returning to the UAE as Dean of the School of Architecture and Interior Design at Canadian University Dubai. With his project UAE Modern he curates conferences, seminars, workshops and installations for the Dubai Design Week. As a member of the Cumulus Association, he is chairing the FINDER working group, which aims at the establishment of an assessment framework for creative scholarships in higher education. His research achievements and projects revolve on sustainability and the transition to the circular economy, and are disseminated through international forums and publications.

Prof. Mohd Saberi Mohamad

Director of Health Data Science Lab, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University

Mohd Saberi is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Health Data Science. He is now the Director of the Health Data Science Lab in the College of Medicine and Health Science, UAE University (CMSH-UAEU). His research area includes Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology. He applies his research area in healthcare, medicine, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, energy, etc. He is a principal investigator (PI) for more than 20 research grants and the co-Pl for more than 20. Also, he has published more than 300 scientific articles (journal, conference, book chapter) and 17 books. Furthermore, he has also been an advisor, leader, and member of committees to develop academic programs at the Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. levels for Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, AI, Data Science, and Bioinformatics. He is now a Scientific Board Member for the Big Data Analytics Centre at UAEU. At the UAE national level, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health and Prevention has appointed him as a member of the Working Team for Artificial Intelligence Applications of Health and Medical Research. Additionally, he has been appointed as a member of the Reference Genome Project Working Group by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health and G42 in UAE. Previously, he was Director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Bioinformatics Research Group, Founder of the Department of Data Science, Deputy Director (Academic) of the Centre for Communication and Informatics, and IT Manager. He was also appointed as a leader to head the task force for academic collaboration, training, and research between UMK and giant industries, namely Huawei Technologies Co, Ltd., Microsoft Corporation, and Alibaba Group Holding Limited. He also served as a chairman 12 times, while he was a member 56 times for the conference committees in Europe, ASEAN, Japan, the US, Australia, China, and Malaysia. Additionally, he is a member of the advisory board for the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and loT Digital Innovation Hub in Europe.
