Dr. Maizatul Akmar Ismail is an Associate Professor at the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. She holds a Bachelor’s and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UM, and a Master’s degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia. Her work centers around Information Systems with a focus on educational technology, recommender systems, and data mining. She leads a research team exploring how data-driven insights and intelligent systems can improve learning experiences and support decision-making. Over the years, she has published extensively in conferences and journals, sharing her research with both academic and practitioner communities. Beyond research, Dr. Maizatul contributes to the academic ecosystem through editorial service as an Chief Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Computer Science (2022 – 2024). She actively participates in innovation and research exhibitions and has also been invited to serve as a judge at several local and international innovation competitions. Dr. Maizatul enjoys collaborating with industry, students, and communities. She believed that impactful research begins with real-world problems and ends with meaningful solutions that benefit society.
Dr. Uttam U. Deshpande is a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at KLS’s Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi, Karnataka. With over 17 years of academic and research experience, he specializes in Computer Vision, Image Processing, AI, Machine Learning, Embedded Systems, and IoT. He serves as the NVIDIA Embedded AI SPOC and Advisor for the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. He earned his Ph.D. from Visvesvaraya Technological University, focusing on deep learning–based latent fingerprint identification. His work includes automated fingerprint recognition, industrial AI solutions, and cloud-enabled medical monitoring systems. Dr. Deshpande has published more than 25 high-impact papers in SCI, Scopus, and Web of Science journals and authored multiple Springer book chapters. He actively mentors research and industry projects funded by DST–Texas Instruments, NVIDIA, and KSCST, and has helped establish major AI and embedded systems labs. He is also a frequent invited speaker and reviewer in leading AI and engineering forums.
Dr. Riasat Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh, and began his academic career as a Lecturer at Green University of Bangladesh. He later earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University, USA, where he also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. At North South University, he served as the Undergraduate Program Coordinator (EEE/ETE) from 2023 to 2024. He is actively involved in the BAETE accreditation process and has completed BAETE Evaluator Training (Tier-1). His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Smart Systems and IoT. Heru’s contributions to the field are well-documented, with over 30 research papers indexed by Scopus. In addition to his research, he is committed to mentoring students and young researchers, fostering the next generation of innovators in medical informatics. His interdisciplinary approach bridges engineering and public health, making his research not only technically sound but also socially impactful.
Kajendra Govindasamy is a business strategist with over five years of experience driving enterprise AI transformation. He is part of InfinitiLab and Glem.ai, a Made-in-Malaysia AI platform recognized as an MDEC FOX-listed company, gaining strong traction across Malaysia, Oman, China, and the Philippines. He is passionate about positioning Malaysia as a serious contributor to the global AI ecosystem and actively builds international partnerships to strengthen the recognition, credibility, and competitiveness of Made-in-Malaysia AI solutions. In this session, Kajendra will share practical insights into what truly constitutes enterprise AI, why AI adoption often fails at the enterprise level, and how organizations - including enterprises and government agencies - can strategically navigate these challenges to unlock cumulative and sustainable ROI. His perspectives are drawn from real-world deployments and the development journey of Glem.ai, offering both strategic clarity and practical direction.
